In my shell

I have been, for the past week, actively avoiding online discussion of the upcoming book by a certain British children's author—even to the point of neglecting to post on Wordright for fear of encountering stray spoilers.

Finally, today, I broke down and read Michiko Kakutani's surprisingly spoiler-free review in today's NYT.

Well, you all know what I'll be doing on Saturday. With luck, I'll return to the world sometime on Sunday or so.

(If you're still not sure what I'm talking about, there's a hint here.)

My spoiler guesses:

1. Harry was dead all along.
2. Harry wakes up next to Suzanne Pleshette.
3. Hermione was a man the whole time.
4. Harry, Tyler Durden, and Keyser Soze are all actually the same person.
5. Harry, heartbroken and ashamed, throws himself under a train.
6. Grown weary and no longer willing to face the indignities associated with his life, Harry renounces all of his silly fantasies and returns to La Mancha to die a quiet death.
7. "...I was a Flower of the mountain yes when I put the rose in my hair like the Andalusian girls used or shall I wear a red yes and how he kissed me under the Moorish wall and I thought well as well him as another and then I asked him with my eyes to ask again yes and then he asked me would I yes to say yes my mountain flower and first I put my arms around him yes and drew him down to me so he could feel my breasts all perfume yes and his heart was going like mad and yes I said yes I will Yes. "

I'm going to go with #7. Narrated, of course, by Severus Snape.
