Being that you should be writing a short piece for test pattern pictures, I suggest the Wilde.
Moby Dick.
I'm with PoN-age on this one. Read about whales before they go extinct.

I would read that first. It's short and zippy. Then you can hunt the whale.
No, no. I've totally read Earnest, and while I would almost certainly re-read it (yet again) if I were to dive into the Wilde volume, I would primarily be reading the book for the other plays, which I haven't read or seen.

Oh no, I'm sure I'm much too late, but you should read Moby Dick.
Then re-read Huckleberry Finn.
